Jenny and Claus Waalers’ Inonothing (Mannie) didn’t quite have the fantastic run we were all hoping for at Badminton, but none the less his XC round was exceptionally good and it was a real shame that he got 20 penalties for his only mistake on course.

Sue White’s Tiger Flynn (Tiger) got tantalising close to a start at Badminton being number 1 on the wait list at the last possible time to be included into the competition. Unfortunately he sustained a minor injury in his preparations for Saumur Three Day Event that will keep him for competing for a short time.

Sue White’s Master Butler (Harry) has suffered from the balloting and cancellation of events and has so has not been out Eventing this month but enjoyed his outing to Summerhouse BSJA.

Martin and Suzi Belshams’ Stormhill Michael (Mike) proved his abilities at the top level with a trip across to France for the Saumur CCI***, where after all three phases he never wavered from his 7 th place in this prestigious and well attended International Event.

Jane Gwillim-Davids’ Sensational Sydney (Syd) cemented his new advanced horse status with a great result at Chatsworth, with a fantastic clear round of XC on the big and demanding Advanced track. He enjoyed his second trip up north this month with a classy 3 rd place in the top class of Open Intermediate at Hexham.

Jane Gwillim-Davids’ Carry on Joseph (Joe) decided that he wasn’t feeling particularly well at Aston Le Walls ODE and so was withdrawn after Show Jumping and then frustratingly has been another to suffer from balloting and cancelled events.

Sally and Colm McGinns’ Cheers Woody (Woody) had another good run at Intermediate level at Aston Le Walls, finishing just outside of the placings, but then decided that the very large and daunting ditch and brush 6 th fence at Hexham ODE was all too much for him and after a bad crash at this fence was lucky not to have sustained more severe injuries than he did.

The Duke and Duchess of Beauforts’ Giacometti (Jack) missed his run at Aston Le Walls but enjoyed his trip up north to Hexham ODE finishing in 14 th place, a creditable result over such a testing track.

Vicki Mace-Benson’s and Georgina Tapner’s Wickstead Didgeridoo (Balloo) is proving to be a very consistent performer with a 5 th place in the novice at Aston le Walls ODE followed by a 2 nd place at Pontispool ODE.

Robbie and Mandy Burns’ Yogi Bear (Yogi) was finding Pre Novice Eventing just all too easy, so after a good run at Rodbaston Pre Novice, he had his first novice start at Pontispool where the extra height and difficulty led to a slightly unhappy time in the show jumping, but he certainly coped exceptionally well with the testing XC track.

Sam Wilson and Annabel Saunders Snowy Elm (Mullins) has also settled to his new Eventing job very quickly with a 3 rd place at Rodbaston ODE in the Pre Novice, and then coped well with the upgrade to Novice level at Pontispool ODE.

Libby and Peter Saugmans’ Caicos (Cai) had his 2 nd Eventing outing at Rodbaston ODE where he found the XC a little daunting, but then grew in confidence very rapidly for an impressive WIN at Wiltshire College ODE in the Pre Novice.

Jenny and Claus Waalers’ Inotheeggman (Egg ) had his Eventing debut at Wiltshire College ODE where after an impressive dressage test managed to build up quite a cricket score in the Show Jumping , but still managed to get round the XC course clear, albeit in a rather entertaining manner!

Jennie Thorn’s Dark Moon (Lowry), also had his Eventing debut at Wiltshire College ODE where he put in a good all round performance in all three phases, being totally at ease with the whole experience.

Sue White’s Kilfinnie (Scottie) had his first outing with Paul piloting at Aston Le Walls which produced a smooth start to the partnership, which was then followed up by an impressive 6 th place at Hexham ODE, proving this new partnership has gelled together quickly.

Panda Chrisite’s Highspring (Tuk) was another new addition to the team to have his first outing with Paul piloting at Aston Le Walls which produced an impressive double clear, which was then followed up by a good result of 11 th place at Hexham ODE.

Zoe Wilkinson and Valdasho(Lizzie) continued to impress this month with their best British Eventing result so far with 3 rd Place in the Novice at Broadway ODE. Unfortunately as is too often the case in Eventing the smiles were short lived when Lizzie injured herself and was unable to compete at the Chepstow Three Day Event. We all wish Lizzie a speedy recovery.

James White and Sir Jasper decided that Pre novice Eventing was too boring for them now and made the step up to Novice level at Rodbaston ODE where both horse and rider found all three phases a little more difficult!
